Hi there!
Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet. My name is Madilyn McClain, and I’m a passionate artist and creative professional based in the enchanting city of St. Louis, Missouri. I’ve been on this artistic journey since 1998, with a drive to create and tell stories through my art and design.
In May 2021, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Truman State University, majoring in Studio Art and minoring in Graphic Design. Over the past two years, I’ve expanded my practice as both a Resident Artist at Artisans in the Loop and a graphic designer at Breakthru Beverage.
My design work is focused on delivering visually impactful creations that resonate with clients and audiences, while my studio work allows me to dive deeply into painting and drawing. My artistic practice is rooted in portraiture, primarily in oil and acrylic paint, blending naturalism with abstract elements. I’m fascinated by the power of storytelling, and my art reflects the inner worlds of the individuals I portray, emphasizing the rich and intimate experiences that shape the human condition. Whether through commissioned pieces or personal projects, I constantly explore new ways to highlight connections between people and the environments they interact with.
In addition to my design and art practice, I’ve been a dedicated musician for over a decade. Music plays an integral role in my creative journey, enriching the way I approach art and design.
I am a proud member of the St. Louis Ladies Artist Guild, where I connect with other female artists and share in the vibrant local arts community.
My work has been featured in the annual publication “Windfall,” as well as in regional juried exhibitions, group shows, and prestigious venues like the Albrecht-Kemper Museum and the Missouri Museum of Natural History.
